Run Falmouth 2021 will be moving to a virtual platform.

Dear Runner

So, we find ourselves in yet another lockdown! Following careful consideration and in light of the ongoing coronavirus restrictions Run Falmouth 2021 will be moving to a virtual platform. We are challenging you to do your trainers between 14th and 31st March 2021 and complete a 13.1 mile route of your choice. Of course, hills are not compulsory but this is Run Falmouth (virtual) so the hillier the better! All we ask is that you complete the run in one go and send us proof you have completed it please – you can join our Strava club here or send a screen shot of your recorded run to medals will be sent out after the close of the event. You can register here, entry fees are £10 per adult and there’s a spot of Merch on offer too! Grab yourself a Team CHC Running Vest, or Supporter T-shirt to show the world you’re supporting your local Hospice.Sponsorship isn’t compulsory but please do consider setting up a JustGiving page, Run Falmouth is such an important fundraiser for us and this year is no different. Run Falmouth is supporting Terry’s Bed Appeal and you will help keep our beds open and support those families who need our care by raising a bit of sponsorship, no matter how small – just £20 will fund an hour of our specialist nursing care.Registration will be live on Monday 18th January.Best wishes01726 66868 (opt 3) Hospice Care

RE: Trevornick 10K, from Glyn, NRR

We are hugely disappointed to inform you that, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the 2021 Trevornick 10k will NOT be held in May this year. We will however, be keeping the race ‘under review’ and may consider putting it on in the Autumn – so please ‘watch this space’. Failing that, it will once again be rolled-over to next year, probably May 2022.
If you had already registered for the 2020 race (and haven’t received a refund), your entry will be automatically carried forward. However, if you want to cancel your registration, please request a full refund before 31st May 2021 by sending an email to:, using “REFUND” as the subject. Please include the following information:
. full name
. club name
. race number (where possible)
. bank account number
. bank sort code
. name on account
It is obviously with a heavy heart that we have arrived at this decision, but we find ourselves in unprecedented times and feel very strongly that the club has to act responsibly. Let’s hope we see an improving situation over the next few months. As Arnie would say, “we will be back!”

An Res Hellys 2021 – cancelled

Dear Runner,Due to the ongoing pandemic and the uncertainty around when restrictions may be lifted it is with regret that we have taken the decision to cancel An Res Hellys 2021. We have decided not to postpone it until later in the year as we feel that if restrictions allow events to take place then the Autumn may already be very busy.We are aware that a number of entrants have already been deferred from the 2020 event and we will now defer those entrants to the 2022 An Res Hellys which will take place around April 2022 (the date is still to be confirmed). We hope that entered runners will be happy with their deferral and look forward to seeing lots of runners at our race in 2022 but if anyone has any queries please email with the subject An Res Hellys by the end of March 2021.We thank you for your understanding and stay safe!

Clearbrook Plym Trail Marathon Dec 2020

Well done to Nicky & Nic for completing the Plym Trail Marathon, in typical moorland weather. It was horrid and just continued to rain. Two big smiles at the end and done in 4.59.47. Watch moving time 4.47.51.. xx

Phil’s relay challenge

With races being cancelled and dark depressing evenings I think it’s time for another virtual relay event this coming weekend! Keep it simple and inclusive. Teams of 4- 2x5km runners and 2x10km runners. The winning team has the lowest combined time. Comment on the post if you are keen and teams will be randomly generated. No medals, just glory!!! (Phil Dawber)

Results: read to the Ski Sunday theme tune

Well done to team 1 (Martin, Marty, Dan, Stephen and Julie) winning time of 170mins 36secs. Team 2 only just behind with 171mins 33secs. Bonus award to Antony Boardman for maximising the elevation over his 10k- all heroes!!
