The Inbetweeners are an informal running group meeting on a Monday and Wednesday evening at 6pm. You can find us on Facebook. We welcome people who are new to running but may be a little worried about joining a running club right away. We welcome people who want to run socially and meet other people who want to run without pressure to perform or race. We meet at different places local to Bodmin. Some of us are members of other local running clubs and some are not. We can signpost you to a local running club and support you with introductions if that is helpful. We do not charge any membership fees and are currently funded by Active Cornwall to support people to be active in the Bodmin area. We have qualified leaders in running fitness and follow guidance from England Athletics. We follow good practices and have a Covid Risk Officer with an up to date risk assessment in place. We complete a track and trace system at each session. We are a friendly and welcoming bunch!
Well done to Nichola Sinclair for completing the half marathon event (with two extra bonus miles thrown in to add to the fun). This was Nicky’s first half marathon and her longest run to date. Finish time 3:13:45
See Fran’s Facebook video post on the Club closed Facebook page (sorry Dee doesn’t have the web skills to post a link to the video here)
Due to Covid restrictions there will not be an AGM this year, if you have any issues you want to raise please contact Fran or Becky
The Bodmin Half Marathon is cancelled. We are considering a September date but due to rescheduling of other races, this may not be an option
If you haven’t already done so, please pay your membership fees. There may be a discount on next year’s fee due to the Club not meeting during the Pandemic. If you want to find a group (of up to 6) to run with on club nights please check out the club facebook page or contact Becky (firstname.lastname@example.org)
The Christmas Party is unlikely to go ahead
Remember the rule of 6, BRR will not be liable for any groups fined for breaking this rule. Please keep posting your photos of runs, the’re brilliant
Well done to Claire Barlow for completing Bys Vyken Events’ The Goat, a virtual challenge with over 37,000 feet of elevation. Claire completed the challange in less than a month and managed to fit in a 28 mile solo run in preparation for her 50k River Exe ultra.
Good afternoon lovely BRR members, yesterday we had our first (outdoor) committee meeting since lockdown , we thought we should have a chat about the club in the strange and wonderful times. Fran will be posting a catch up later in the week in the form of his “not the 9 o’clock news” but we need keep you all updated about membership fees. Originally membership fees should have been paid in March to start the 1st April 2020 until 31st March 2021, with all the upheaval of the last few months we were all happy to let this run over for a few months while many were furloughed and times were uncertain. Now we are up and running with regular groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays although of restricted numbers we need to ask that everyone wishing to remain a member of the club pays their outstanding membership fees by the 20th September, that’s 2 weeks from today, after that we will assume you no longer wish to rejoin and will remove you from the closed Facebook group. To be fair to those members who paid earlier in the year we ask that everyone pays the full years fee and we will look at a discounted membership fee next year for the months where the club could not meet. Full membership fee is £36 for single runner who wishes to be affiliated, £62 for a couple. Second claim runners and non-competitive are £23. Please contact Rebecca Bateman if you need our account details (these have not changed). If anyone would like to rejoin but needs more time to pay please contact me (Becky) privately. Many thanks for your support over the last few months of the club, as guideline change we will keep you updated. Take care of yourselves
