Mother and Daughter duo Jane and Emma started their weekend with a bit of parkrun tourism at the Bakewell parkrun before taking on the Carsington Water Half Marathon. Well done both.
Hameldown Hammer
Anthony Stephan and Becky
Well done all, for braving the elements on a tough, challenging half marathon designed to be a serious test of endurance. Ian had to make the difficult decision to pull out as conditions worsened, but he’s still a hero to us!
Race Times for the Hameldown Hammer:
Rebecca Bateman: 3.05.28
Stefan Palmer: 3.05.31
Anthony Boardman: 2.32.40

Well done to Jane Stedman for completing her 278th Marathon – the 100 Marathon Club AGM Marathon
“Fantastic 100 Marathon Club AGM Marathon – found it really tough in strong headwind and a totally flat course – along Thames Path at Walton on Thames-but bonus was seeing parakeets screeching overhead”.
Jane with Danny Kay, who has run over 700 Marathons

Newquay 10k

What a fantastic turnout from the club – 29! Brilliant. It was so good to see a sea of blue out there. Great to see Clive Ramsden again. He has moved to Newquay, so had only just got out of bed!
It was very warm and the overnight rain, fortunately, had dissipated. There was a significant amount of mud going up the lane and, just to add to the excitement, a number of horses came out of the farm causing some disturbance to the front runners.
It’s a difficult race to marshal with the road crossings, so well done to NRR for a well managed race. Very enjoyable.
Here are the club’s results:
Clive Ramsden: 40.11
(Jo Temple: 41.48)
